What We Do
Massage therapy techniques and methods

The following is a list of the types of massage we will incorporate into many of our sessions.
All of our therapists are able to perform these techniques and fall into the ‘registered massage therapy’ category.
Swedish Massage
This technique is a blanket term used to describe general massage techniques used for relaxation massage. If your goal is to relax, de-stress or escape reality for an hour this will be sure to help!
Deep Tissue Massage
Is aimed at addressing the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Can be tender, but communication with your therapist will ensure that it stays within your comfort level.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are what many people refer to a “knot” in a muscle. Specific pressure is applied to the tender spot which can refer pain or different sensations to other areas of the body. Trigger points can be responsible for headaches, chronic tension and decreased mobility.
Pregnancy Massage
Pre-natal massage is a safe and preferred method to relieve many of the discomforts associated with pregnancy. It is safe for all stages of pregnancy. Special positioning on the massage table ensures total comfort during your session.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is geared towards treating and preventing sports-related injuries. Whether you are a professional athlete or just like playing street hockey with the kids, the goal is to help prevent injury, maximize results and promote recovery.
*Here are some other types of treatment that we offer. Only certain therapists perform these techniques so please specify before booking.
Hot stone Massage
Uses heated basalt stones to penetrate deep into your muscles to provide intense relaxation, also softens scar tissue, promotes blood flow and reduces trigger points. (Jasmine, Jessica, Shelley)
Thermal Palms Massage
Similar to hot stone massage but uses oatmeal-filled cloth bags held in the palm of the therapist’s hand to perform the massage. (Roxanne)
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that helps the body heal itself. It finds and releases restrictions in the body from the head all the way down the spine to the sacrum to coax positive change in the body. It uses very little pressure and can be done over clothing. (Roxanne, Gwen)
Lymphatic drainage
Manual lymph drainage is a very gentle, unique massage technique which promotes the natural circulation of lymph throughout the body which can help decrease swelling and enhance immune system function. (Gwen)
SER (SomatoEmotional Release)
SER is an advanced form of craniosacral therapy. Call Gwen if you have any questions about SER.
